Pedro is currently an independent advisor on strategy and innovation for companies in different sectors, as well as Of Counsel to PwC in Spain. Pedro joined PwC in 1996 and since then has held different responsibilities including Chief Innovation Officer of PwC in Spain, Managing Director of Innovation of PwC Global as well as Managing Director of the innovation advisory services of Strategy; (PwC) in the Spanish market.
Pedro has advised on innovation (from strategy to implementation) to companies in all different sectors, such as finance, software, pharmaceuticals, engineering, construction and concessions, industrial products, professional football, automotive, FMCG and retail. His professional background also includes more than 25 years of experience in consulting, transactions and integrations (post-deal) in multiple industries and countries.
The IESE Business School published the business case “Innovation at PwC: Transforming the organisation” as an example of best practice in the industry. In addition, PwC Spain has been recognised for its innovation management programme with several awards by the financial newspapers “Expansión” and “Financial Times” and the financial magazine “Actualidad Económica”.
Pedro has specialised in innovation and entrepreneurship with extensive knowledge in all areas related to innovation management, entrepreneurship and business strategy. In turn, his experience has been complemented by his knowledge of world-class ecosystems such as those of Israel, Boston and Silicon Valley.
Pedro has also authored several reference reports in the field of innovation such as “Spain 2033: competing in innovation”, “Hot Topics in Innovation 2013” or PwC’s “Innovation Benchmark” in more than 50 countries.
Pedro is a visiting professor at LaLiga Business School, a tutor in the IE Business School Venture Lab Program and has created and invested in several companies/startups.
Pedro holds a degree in Economics (UAB), a Diploma in Philosophy (Universidad Pontifica Comillas/ICADE), a Master’s in Innovation (MIT), an Executive MBA (ESADE), a Master’s in Global Sports Marketing (LaLiga Business School) and a Master’s in Information Technologies and Systems (IE Business School).
As of 2021, Pedro is the director of all Music Business Innovation programmes at IMB School, and the director of the Challenges module.
